Gallagher Group has revealed that it has purchased the majority shareholding in Gallagher Power Fence South Africa, reclaiming sole shareholder status.

Gallagher Security

Gallagher highlights that it has proudly operated in the African market from its base in Johannesburg since 1992 with its Security and Animal Management solutions.

In 2018, Gallagher created a joint venture with Iso Lika Nkulunkulu Pty Ltd (ISO) to support the growth of GPFSA in South Africa and across the African continent.

ISO has had management control during that period and shareholders included Mike Foley (then General Manager of GPFSA), Nomhle Canca and Thero Setiloane.

“The meaningful difference”

Mark Junge, Chief Executive, Gallagher Security commented on the importance of the African market to the company, stating: “I’m pleased to announce we have completed this purchase and we are the 100 percent owner of our African distribution.

“GPFSA’s successes have highlighted the strength of our long-term relationships, our understanding of this unique market, and the meaningful difference our products make in the African market – helping people protect what matters most.”

Junge continued: “Gallagher remains committed to ensuring that we meet the intent of the BEE legislation and is committed to retaining BEE Certification.”

Position changes

Mike Foley

This announcement also coincides with the retirement of Mike Foley as CEO of GPFSA.

Junge commented: “Mike has led South Africa and been an important member of the wider Gallagher team for 29 years. We’re incredibly grateful and proud to have had Mike as our colleague and we wish him all the very best for his retirement.”

Nomhle Canca

Since 2018, Nomhle Canca has served as Chair of GPFSA while also holding the role of Managing Director.

“Her strategic contributions have played a key role in the company’s strong growth. Nomhle will now be stepping down as Managing Director to focus on her other business ventures.

“We also honour the valuable contributions of Thero Setiloane, who played a significant role as both a shareholder and director. His impact on the business prior to his passing in 2024 is deeply appreciated,” says Junge.

Morne Grobler

Morne Grobler (currently Group Operating Officer) will become General Manager – Security Africa, reporting into Craig Schutte, Executive Vice President APAC IMEA.

The new General Manager will have responsibility for Security Sales, Operations, Warehouse, Marketing and Administration.

Grobler commented on his appointment: “I’m honoured to step into this new role at Gallagher and to work alongside such a talented team as we continue building on our success in delivering innovative products that meet the evolving needs of our customers.”
