New security-focused Mastercard Start Path program launched

Mastercard Start Path has confirmed the launch of its new Security Solutions program.
The initiative is said to be dedicated to supporting high potential start-ups that are pioneering technologies in cybersecurity, fraud mitigation, digital identity and payment resiliency.

According to Mastercard, start-ups OneID, Scamnetic, Spec, VanishID and Shield-IoT are the first to participate following a competitive global application and vetting process.
The new initiative is the latest extension of Start Path, the company’s global start-up engagement arm.
Mastercard Start Path – which offers support for start-ups to scale innovative solutions in specialised areas – has welcomed over 475 start-ups across more than 60 countries since its inception in 2014.
Security Solutions is said to support Mastercard’s commitment to securing the digital economy.
Since 2018, the company has invested over $10b in cybersecurity innovation, with a portfolio including value-added services, strategic acquisitions and partnerships and fraud prevention technologies.
