How AI video analytics are transforming global security operations

October 22, 2025
All Security News - ISJ hears exclusively from Will MacDonald, Director of Product Management for the Avigilon Alta Video product line at Motorola Solutions about how AI video analytics are transforming global security operations. Advancing artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly changing the way we live, work and think. While the technology provides us with many advantages in productivity and efficiency, significant security concerns accompany these benefits. Global security operations across prominent industries face new threats due to advancing technology and social instability, where the number of incidents is increasing in both numbers and sophistication. As a result, security practitioners need to adopt new strategies to mitigate these threats and protect businesses from damage and disruption. Video cameras have long been at the forefront of security operations, providing visual oversight to business locations. However, the evolution of physical threats means security leaders will need more adaptive strategies to address these concerns. AI video analytics are the driving factor behind the transformation of global security operations. The limitations of traditional video security cameras There’s no doubt that video still plays a vital role in securing the corporate environment, helping to identify, detect and deter physical threats in and around facilities. However, traditional video security has begun to see limitations due to evolving threats and the increasing amount of footage captured daily. Standard video security cameras capture footage for later analysis by security personnel in the event of an incident, used as evidence or to address gaps in premises safety. However, as the response to potential damage, theft or violence becomes more apparent and urgent, more real-time observation is needed to minimise disruption to business and reduce potential harm to staff. AI-assisted analysis capabilities help security teams take swifter action, processing current footage to alert them to suspicious activity in progress. Integrating those functions into video cameras.... All Security News from International Security Journal.

Advanced outdoor Security Radar released by i-PRO

October 22, 2025
All Security News - i-PRO has confirmed the release of its Security Radar – a new category of outdoor video monitoring devices that have been designed to enhance perimeter protection in mission-critical environments. The i-PRO Security Radar system – which operates on advanced 60GHz millimetre wave technology – supports integration with up to four AI-enabled i-PRO PTZ cameras. This is said to help deliver precise detection and real-time visual tracking of people and vehicles. i-PRO Security Radar Covering a full 180° field of view, the Security Radar maintains accuracy even in low-light or severe weather, ensuring reliable situational awareness. According to the company, it has been engineered for high-security sectors such as power plants, data centres, airports and remote infrastructure Addressing longstanding gaps in outdoor monitoring, the integrated radar and video system will reportedly reduce false alarms and ensure that operators receive reliable, real-time information. The new Security Radar is designed to support both operator-led and autonomous security operations and offers detection capabilities up to 70 metres (230 feet) for people and 100 metres (328 feet) for vehicles – offering full coverage with fewer devices. i‑PRO’s Security Radar integrates with VMSs such as Genetec, Milestone, VideoInsight and more. “Unmatched reliability” “Our new Security Radar sets a new benchmark for outdoor monitoring, combining high accuracy radar, vision, and smart tracking,” said Gerard Figols, Chief Operating Officer, i-PRO. “For operators of infrastructure and unmanned facilities, this means fewer false alarms, faster response times and unmatched reliability in mission-critical environments.” With support for up to four edge-AI PTZ cameras, operators can visually track objects across a site without the need for complex server-side software or infrastructure. Designed for performance and durability, the radar system is built to withstand tampering and environmental exposure, with a coastal model variant available for salt-heavy environments. Hardware is FIPS 140-3 Level 3.... All Security News from International Security Journal.
